You Need to Know That the Evil of Stigma Must Stop Now

It’s time to stand up for what is right for us all now

As someone who’s dedicated just over three decades of his working life to practicing professionally in mental healthcare, I was more than a little dismayed to discover that, after being trampled all over by the Covid-19 virus, after nursing many patients in isolation throughout the pandemic, I was found to be medically unable to continue to work any longer, despite many attempts at trying to ignore my body’s screaming at me.

That was it.

No more 12-hour shift work for me.

You’d think I would be chuffed?

No way, I felt cheated by the shortcomings of the government departments that were supposed to protect us.

You know, us, the nurses. The ones who kept you alive throughout, while Governments tried in vain (sorry, did I mean to say party) through the pandemic instead.

Do I sound bitter?

That’s because I am.

Covid-19 destroyed my immune system which in turn affected both my balance and coordination skills. So no, working in healthcare was no longer a viable option.
