 He wiped grime on his blue jeans. His face
 darkened as he watched the trout flop at his feet.
 
His eyes looked timid like mine as a child, 
full of fear and helplessness. pleading for grace.
 I picked up the trout, and we held it together. 
My son’s eyes glinted at me
 as we lowered the trout into the water
 and watched it dart into the deep.
