The Right Hon. Sir Keir Starmer, currently elected as the Prime Minister for United Kingdom, after a landslide victory in the last general election last year (2024) stated in its manifesto that, the party would:

🅰️ select the sites for a series of new towns by the end of the year, and made waves in the lead-up to the campaign with its pledges to back the “builders not blockers”

and,

🅱️ promised to build 1.5 million new homes over the course of the next parliament, setting itself an ambitious target on building new homes

Typical actions made by any political party hoping to get elected in any runup to a general election.

Yet, manifestos don’t really hold much water in all honesty, because they appear just to be written for the sake of ‘pulling in those voters,’ as much of those ‘promises’ suddenly get ignored & ‘shoved into the depths od a dusty old drawer, and buried forevermore.’

But take a read of the following story concerning a tree, and you will soon get my point about Sir Keir Starmer’s two manifest promises.
