“At this point, I thought ‘we made it,’ by which I meant ‘we survived.’ I also was acutely aware that my childhood dream of flying into space had just come true.”

Ron Garan is a highly decorated NASA astronaut, fighter pilot, and active social entrepreneur who believes that appropriately designed and targeted social enterprise can solve many of the problems facing our world today.

Despite NASA having already visited the Moon on several occasions during the past Apollo missions, the Moon never again saw humanity land upon its surface, even during the flight plans of the Space Shuttle expeditions between 1981and 2011 (which incidentally cost the United States (US) a whopping $209 Billion over its 30 year life) the Moon was never again revisited.

During the explorative phases of NASA’s Artemis project, humanity will eventually step back upon the surface of the Moon once again. NASA officially changed their eventual lunar landing deadline to “no earlier than 2025,” as US Senator Bill Nelson stated.
