Good morning, Fred and thank you for such a helpful and kind response😊. Starting with answering your questions which I am really happy to be doing this, yes, it was originally accepted and published with vocal within 30 minutes of actually submitting to them! Vocal does not have 'traffic' so to speak (as opposed to medium which does) so sometimes I will post to both sites to obtain a wider reach of reads and engagement for the article.
The recent shortform activity is in response to a 30-day shortform challenge that I am doing with that publication this month. I tend to write a shortform which then creates a longform article to it afterwards, or if I write a longform then I will write a shortform to introduce the longform and increase its reach. Shortform articles (150 words only) are not eligible for 'curation,' as opposed to longform which are. One of the reasons that I attained 'Top Writer' in the topic of SPACE. The shortform publication also has over 4k followers too, so my submissions to them get monthly reads and earnings too😊. Finally, on this though, shortform (whilst they do get lots of reads) they do not rate highly for 'Member Read Time,' so, no, they don't earn as heavily as a longform, but I use them to attract attention to longform that I write.
I love writing both Fred, but as I am writing a couple of books at the same time as writing on medium, shortform can give me far more time to concentrate on writing them!
