Domestic Violence Payback.

The British legal system is nothing but a joke when it comes to sentencing the perpertrators of such a heinous crime.

“Punishment should fit the criminal.”

Effective punishment will:

✅… cause less re-offenders. Face it, it serves no purposeful value on educative rehabilitation, should the sentence be too soft for the crime; so the criminal will be more likely to reoffend in that instance (simply thinking that crime is nothing but a game to him/her.)

✅… fit the criminal in the sense that every accused person is tried in court. So, after all the medical, psychological & social reports (the so-called, ‘pre-sentencing’ reports) are completed then, the judge should look from the standard set of sentencing guidelines, to hand down the correct and most appropriate measure to the guilty.

However, on the flipside, when you are investigating crimes against another person, in particular, that such as Domestic Abuse (albeit mental or physical in either case) I only have this to say:
