Dogs Are Not Just for Christmas
Christmas Is Here Again for Our Pets Too
Please remember the dogs and cats in your life too when telling Santa
I can vividly recall the Christmas antics of our family cairn terrier all those years back as a young child whilst living at home.
One occasion was when, as a family, my parents, my brother, and two sisters had gone to Midnight Mass at our local parish church where we lived back in the 1970s.
Before we left home for Christmas Eve Mass, our mum and dad had carefully arranged our Christmas presents around the base of the brightly colored tinseled tree with special family presents sitting inside festive sacks. Behind the tree were two more presents for our family dog also.
Remember the old saying that, ‘a dog is for life not just for Christmas?’
Our parents had always had a dog even before any of us came along, So, we all grew up with our family pet around our feet and lazing on our beds, or even chewing on a bone under the beds too at times. I recall my parents even telling me that I used to sit on the poor dog when he would stretch out on the hearth rug in front of the fireplace. Even now, I still have vague memories of having done this.
Whiskey was one hell…
