A disgrace indeed - the loss of a child through adoption is so awful to bear. My wife and I know all to well as we lost out youngest son to adoption due to mental ill-health many years ago. While sad and heartbreaking, the reunion should be about the parent being ‘me centred, but it should be about the feelings of the child - after all, it can never be taken for granted that the child is the one who goes through far more emotional distress and lack of understanding. The child needs their feelings validating more than anyone else.
